Gardens that are of large container types are filled with light-weighted nutrients which are rich in soil and can easily produce a larger yield in a lesser period.  They are also easier in maintaining because they are in space higher than the ground level.

The following 10 tips will helpful

Select a spot of your Garden Raised Beds:

Garden Raised Beds

You can raise your garden bed anywhere you want to on your ground. You just have to follow some basic rules for garden beds. You need to find a place where the sun’s light will be enough for your Garden Raised Beds to reach. Also, that place needs to be near a large tree where wind pressure is low because high wind pressure can destroy your plants. Plus that place should be access free to the water system, avoid placing it near the place where water collects and stands. Your vegetables and flowers don’t like these types of conditions.

Settle on the dimensions of your Garden

Your Garden Raised Beds should be raised above your ground at some height. This height will make sure that the soil has a soil level that is raised plus your plants will grow faster and healthier. As there is no limit at which height your garden bed should be. But most of the garden beds are above 12 to 20 inches from the ground level. It will make it easier for the people who can’t walk or the old people who are in wheelchairs can easily reach out to the plants. Your bed should be 3 feet wide. The length is up to you but many people prefer it to be four-foot to five-foot lengths. And to allow walking room in between it should be good if you place them at least a distance of 24 inches apart if somehow you grow a lot of produce.

The material used for the Garden Beds.

You can buy your Garden Raised Beds kits from your local home improvement centre or you can buy them online. garden beds should be constructed from water and rot-resistant materials. You can also build up your garden bed with concrete blocks, redwood, and many more materials.

Double dig if the sides are low on your Garden Raised Beds.

If the sides of the Garden Raised Beds are 12 or above 12 inches you can build your Garden Raised Beds right on top of it with the appropriate soil. If the side is lower than 12 inches then you need to give it a double digging because of which plant root must have space and can go deep inside the ground. This technique will make your roots healthier. And so it will give better results to your plants which will further enhance your Garden Raised Beds.

Use the right soil mix.

You can raise your garden bed with the commercial potting soil that is good for the veggies and fruits. garden beds are generally filled with a soil mixture. This mixture is a combination of two parts of topsoil which can either be purchased from home improvement stores or ordered online and can have it in a handful amount.

It is a challenge-full task for a Garden Raised Beds to be successful if the soil near your area is full of clay or sand content.

Arrange your plants according to the height.

After the installation part, it’s time for arranging it in an appropriate order. No one wants their small veggies or fruits hidden behind the larger veggies or fruits. So you have to arrange it in order. Keep the large one at the back and the small one in front which will also give your Garden Raised Beds a neat and clean look

You need to mulch to hold dampness.

If you don’t provide the roots with its surface protection they are more likely to get dried out. Mulch is a layer of natural matter that should be spread over the soil. This mulch will keep the soil cool and limit evaporation. For best results in your garden beds, you should spread mulch in an even two-inch layer and push down gently.

You should treat the soil with three to four inches of natural mulch.

Watering the roots.

Rather than using a spray bottle or any such things use appropriate watering cans to water your plants so that the water should reach the roots. Because the damp leaves may poison any of your veggies or fruits so send never take this risk. You can install a drip system, such as the Ohuhu DIY Drip Irrigation Kit, which comes with flexible irrigation parts and delivers water where it’s needed most at ground level.

Fertilization

The soil in garden beds is loftier and fluffier than soil in a regular garden. So plant roots quickly spread throughout; absorbing the nutrients they need for robust growth. When you first plant, add a time-release, granular garden fertilizer, such as Miracle Gro-Continuous Release Plant Food for Vegetables and Fruits. Avoid using such fertilizers which are not labelled for fruits and vegetables, as these can contain nutrients that support the foliage. But reduce the number and quantity of your produce.

Planning for next year’s crops.
